Self Build Portsmouth Igoo 2010

Sitting in the studio looking out over the snow has caused me to reminisce on my student days when studying my masters. In 2010 myself and a few others from our studio took to Portsmouth common to build an igloo using two tupperware boxes. The boxes where used to form the blocks and lids as shovels. We left the blocks exposed externally to express the construction and packed the inside to form an iced layer for reinforcement. It took as about 6-7 hours to complete with endless tea to defrost. It lasted about 4-5 days before demolition with a visit from Fred Dinenage for an interview on iTV news. It was a great day and we met so many people who enjoyed it. Enjoy your snow adventures...
