Giving back

'Caring has the gift of making the ordinary special.'

- George R. Bach -

We support our clients, each other, and the wider community – this is one of our guiding principles at PAD studio, we care about how and what we do.

Whilst it is obvious how we endeavour to support our clients along their respective design journeys, it is not always recognised how we strive to support our wider communities. As a business we have pledged to donate over 10% of our turnover to charities, either through financial support (such as the global Toilet Twinning initiative) or pro bono design work (most recently the spudWORKS scheme.)

By volunteering our time and skills we have designed and delivered five new artist studios for spudWORKS, part of a local charity developing collaborations involving art, architecture and education. The studios have help to revitalise their site in Sway, New Forest, creating an inspiring hub for culture and creativity and bringing a steady source of income for the charity, ensuring its stability going forward.

This week we see Ben and Ricky from our team packing their helmets and lycra and heading off to undertake the gruelling ‘Lands End to John O’Groats’ cycling challenge, raising some much-needed funds for excellent work The Architects Benevolent Society (ABS) undertake.

As Aesop once said, “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted”.
